A mixed media approach using oils, pastels, acrylic paint, ink and water was used for this painting. Layers of water, ink, plastic and paint were put together and allowed to dry and then were rewet in order to capture the fine line of the paint above and around the flowers. Some of the flowers are almost translucent but that does not take away from the beauty and the uniqueness of how they stand on the paper. The colour balances across this painting and the flat paint application of the flowers contrasts with the fine line overlay of the black and metallic paint. The fine lines created with the black ink and the plastic. This is then encased in a black and white border and a simple black A3 frame.
